How dungeons work in Forever

  • One difficulty

Dungeons and raids have a single difficulty. There is no Heroic mode, and it does not adapt to your group. Armor color variants seen in the beta are offset pieces, not a second difficulty.

  • Run it once, with every quest

Dungeon quests give far more experience than the monsters do. Collect every quest first, clear the dungeon once, then go back to questing.

  • No Dungeon Finder

Nothing matches you into a group or teleports you in. Meeting stones open a Looking for Group listing and do not summon.

  • Walk, or bring a Warlock

Ritual of Summoning still works and still needs two other party members at the spot. Everyone else walks to the door.

5 more rules · Boss loot is Rare quality, Camp blueprints, Tarnished Undermine Real, Forgot to loot?, No Dungeon Journal at firstShow
  • Boss loot is Rare quality

Dungeon drops were re-examined and hundreds of new drops were added. Boss items are Rare quality.

  • Camp blueprints

Specific dungeon bosses drop Blueprint recipes for advanced camp objects: the Alchemy Lab, the Tanning Rack and upgraded Campfires.

  • Tarnished Undermine Real

A dungeon currency in the style of Burning Crusade's Badges of Justice, with resource boxes.

  • Forgot to loot?

The Steamwheedle Lost and Found, run by Rix Xizzix, mails you dungeon items you left unlooted.

  • No Dungeon Journal at first

Raid bosses stay unknown until you walk in, and there will be no raid test realm to spoil the next tier.

Raids: 9 Dec 2026

Sizes and entrancesShow
  • Raids unlock on 9 Dec 2026. Launch raids need no attunement.
  • Every raid tier has a 10-player raid and a 20-player raid. There is no flex sizing.
  • Barrow Deeps (10 players) has about eight bosses and three entrances, one of them in Mount Hyjal. Hyjal Summit (20 players) has more bosses.
  • Onyxia's Lair is the extra 40-player raid in the December wave, with extra tier pieces. Not every tier gets a 40-player raid.
  • You can out-gear and out-level raids. The difficulty never changes.
