A new 15v15 battleground, Darkspear Islands, joins the three classics at launch.
- Rulesets are Normal, PvP and RP, with Hardcore later. The PvP ruleset is one faction, picked at creation; the others allow both.
- Darkspear Islands, off Kalimdor, has control points plus Arathi-style flag capture and defense. Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin and Alterac Valley return.
- Honor ranks go through 14 and can be completed in a patch cycle. Rewards reset each season or tier.
- From the Q&A: no rated PvP, no Token gear buy-in, no paid boosts, cap 60 forever. Arenas are not announced.
- Raids are a separate calendar: Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair unlock 9 December 2026.
