Transmog is in, you can turn it off, and who collects an appearance depends on item quality.
- Opt out at a transmogrifier NPC. Classic Mode starts with transmog off. The High-Definition Models checkbox in character creation is separate.
- Bind-on-pickup Uncommon or Rare dungeon items give the appearance to every eligible looter. Poor or Common items give it without binding.
- Epic raid drops give it only to the player the item binds to. Raids unlock 9 Dec 2026.
- Transmog preserves your silhouette: a paladin needs a cloth chest to show one. The Deep Dive example was Robes of the Exalted.
- Your equipped armor type sets which appearances you can use. Higher-level limits lift at 60.
- You can save multiple appearances per slot per set.
- Collections and Legacy Points are shared across Normal, PvP and RP. Hardcore, not at launch, lets progress flow out but not in.
