How Fury plays
- Fury runs on critical strikes. Cruelty raises the chance of one, and Flurry turns each one into 25% faster swings for your next 3.
- Rage comes from hitting things: Unbridled Wrath gives a 60% chance of extra Rage whenever a weapon hit deals damage.
- Being hit helps too. Enrage has a chance to add 10% Physical damage for 12 sec after any damaging attack lands on you, and Blood Craze heals a little after a critical strike against you.
- Death Wish is the cooldown: 20% more Physical damage for 30 sec, paid for with 5% more damage taken.
- Bloodthirst, the last talent, takes its damage from your Attack Power, so it hits the same with any weapon.
What to press first
Most important first. Not a rotation.
- 1
Stay on the target and keep swinging
Unbridled Wrath has a 60% chance to add Rage each time a weapon hit deals damage.
- 2
Use Bloodthirst whenever it is ready
Bloodthirst is instant, back every 6 sec, and dealing damage with it also starts Blood Craze's healing.
- 3
Press Death Wish for the hard pulls
Death Wish adds 20% Physical damage on a 3 min cooldown, and makes you immune to Fear while it runs.
- 4
Use Whirlwind once you dual wield
Raging Blows makes Whirlwind strike with your off-hand weapon too.
- 5
Cleave when a second enemy is in reach
Raging Blows also takes 2 Rage off Cleave.
- 6
Reach for Piercing Howl when you need to leave
Piercing Howl leaves all nearby enemies Dazed, cutting their movement speed by 50% for 6 sec.
Talents that change how you play · 8
From Unbridled Wrath at level 15 to Dual Wield Specialization at 41.
The level is when our build first takes the talent.
- Levels 15–19
Weapon hits start returning Rage. With a two-handed weapon each proc is 2 Rage.
- Levels 20–22
The first self-healing: a little health back over 6 sec after a critical strike against you, or a single hit for more than 20% of your health.
- Level 25
Raging Blows16-point milestone
The milestone is for dual wielding: Whirlwind hits with both weapons. While you still carry a two-hander, only the cheaper Cleave applies.
- Levels 26–30
Taking a hit can now make you hit harder.
- Level 31
Your first big cooldown.
- Levels 35–39
Critical strikes now speed up your next 3 swings, which is when the tree starts to feel fast.
- Level 40
Bloodthirst becomes the button you press most.
- Levels 41–45
Two weapons become worth it: off-hand damage up 25%, off-hand Rage generation up 100%, and 10% more chance to hit with the off-hand.
Gear to look for
What the talents reward on items, and items that carry it.
- Until Dual Wield Specialization at level 41, a two-handed weapon suits this build: Unbridled Wrath gives 2 Rage a proc with one.
- After it, two one-handed weapons. The talent raises off-hand damage, off-hand Rage and off-hand hit chance.
- Attack Power for Bloodthirst, critical strike chance for Flurry, and chance to hit, which Precision also adds.

Groups and dungeons
In a group: damage. New group talents before 3 dungeons.
In a group these talents support damage.
- Fury's talents add damage. None of the Fury talents in this build mentions threat.
- Death Wish raises the damage you take by 5% while it lasts, which is the healer's Mana as much as yours.
- Piercing Howl slows every enemy near you at once, useful when a pull spills over.
New group talents by the time each dungeon opens
Strengths and trade-offs
3 strengths, 2 trade-offs.
Strengths
- Rage from every weapon hit, from level 15.
- Three damage effects that stack on each other: Enrage, Death Wish and Flurry.
- Some healing of its own, through Blood Craze.
Trade-offs
- Dual Wield Specialization arrives at level 41. Before it an off-hand weapon has no talent behind it.
- Enrage and Blood Craze need you to be hit, and Death Wish adds to the damage you take: the tree gets stronger as the fight gets rougher.
