A weapon build. Thundering Strikes and Mental Dexterity raise critical strike chance and Attack Power, and Improved Ghost Wolf at 15 and 16 makes Ghost Wolf faster to cast. Flurry and Maelstrom Weapon add attack speed and cheaper Lightning Bolts, and Rage of the Farseer arrives at 40.

Key decisions
- Mental Dexterity at 17 to 19: Flurry needs all 3 points in it.
- Shamanistic Focus at 23 cuts the Mana cost of your Shocks and Lightning Shield.
- Mental Quickness at 33 and 34: Rage of the Farseer requires both points.
- The Elemental points go to Concussion and Reverberation, then Elemental Fury for spell critical strike damage.

Elemental leveling build
38/13/0 at level 60Call of Thunder at level 25
A Lightning Bolt build. Concussion and Convection make it hit harder and cost less, and Elemental Fury fills levels 20 to 24. Lightning Overload and Elemental Alacrity follow, and Lava Burst arrives at 40. It casts for every kill, so Mana is the limit.
Key decisions
- Elemental Fury at 20 to 24: Call of Thunder needs all 5 points in it.
- Elemental Focus at 26 gives a chance at a free damage spell after any Fire, Frost or Nature damage spell.
- Lightning Overload at 30 to 32: Lava Burst needs all 3 points.
- Call of Thunder also opens Elemental Alacrity, which shortens Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning and Lava Burst.

Restoration leveling build
0/15/36 at level 60Mana Tide Totem at level 25
A healing build with the Restoration talents that also help you fight: Tidal Focus adds hit chance to all spells and attacks, Water Shield at 20 returns Mana when you are hit and Mindfulness keeps Mana regenerating while you cast. Riptide arrives at 40. In our view questing alone is slow.
Key decisions
- Tidal Focus at 15 to 19 is the early talent that helps damage: hit chance for all spells and attacks.
- Totemic Focus fills levels 26 to 30: cheaper totems help in every fight.
- Healing Way at 31 to 33: Riptide needs all 3 points.
- The last 15 points go into Enhancement for Thundering Strikes and Ancestral Knowledge.

What changed for Shamans · 5
Changes from Classic, and what the beta showed.
Shamans are on both factions now: Dwarves can be Shamans.
A Shaman tank is not a launch role. Josh Greenfield called it "not quite yet, but never say never".
Bonus healing also adds bonus damage, at one third.
Caster weapons now carry spell damage and healing.
A new spell rank may not replace the old one on your action bar. Check your bars after each trainer visit: the spellbook hides lower ranks until you choose show all ranks.

Changes that apply to every class· 2
All 27 talent trees are meant to be viable for all content. They are not equal, and none should be strong enough to stack a raid with.
Hit and crit are one stat each for melee, ranged and spells. Hover a stat on the character sheet and it explains itself.
